Nokia shows nanotechnology Morph concept phone

Nokia and the University of Cambridge unveil the Morph.

Mobile phones are one of the most common pieces of the technology used in our daily lives. Some reports, the number of cell phones sold in 2007 to 1.1 million worldwide. With the number of cell phones sold in 2007 alone, the market is too hot to expand research and development of new phones.

Nokia and the University of Cambridge have joined in a new concept called the phone Morph described as a device nanotechnology concept. The design concept was initiated in the “Design and Elastic Mind” exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.

According to Nokia, the Morph is a concept aimed at demonstrating how the devices in the future could be stretchable, flexible, which allows the user to change the shape of your device on a whim. The construction of nanotechnology is capable of providing users with flexible materials, transparent and electronics self-cleaning surfaces.

Nokia Chief Technology Officer Dr. Bob Iannucci said in a statement, “Nokia Research Center is looking at ways to reinvent the form and function of mobile devices; Morph concept of shows what might be possible.”

Nokia claims that certain elements of the Morph could be integrated into the high-end of handheld devices in the next seven years. Nokia adds that nanotechnology could lead at some point to low cost manufacturing complex devices provide solutions at low prices.

Cambridge University Professor Mark Welland added, “Development of Morph concept Nokia has provided us with an approach that is both a source of artistic inspiration, but more importantly, sets the agenda for our technology joint nanoscience research to stimulate our Future work together. “

Nokia made headlines earlier this month when the German government demanded 60.5 million in reimbursement of subsidies it provides.
