Palm has some fun at the expense of RIM
Misstep a company is often an opportunity for a competitor to come in and take advantage. Companies like Sony and Microsoft itself stab in the back all the time with regard to the consoles. Even saw Nokia take a jab at Apple over “locked” iPhone.
In the case of Palm, Inc., the company saw a great opportunity to go after Research in Motion (RIM) over its disruption of service on Monday.
Frustrated users of BlackBerry is put aside when he had trouble sending emails and documents using data supplied RIM-service. The outages were later blamed on a system upgrade designed to strengthen the overall capacity of the data network.
Palm now has a notice on its website U.S. RIM that pokes fun at the folly. The announcement to sell the importance of uptime and notes that Palm smartphones “Connect to the Microsoft Exchange Server. Servers N third of the nation and no blackouts.”
It is slightly amusing attack RIM and its popular BlackBerry mobile devices, but people in glass houses should not throw stones.
Palm recently ranked last mobile phone in a survey of customer satisfaction conducted by ChangeWave. The survey revealed that only 30% of customers are happy with their Palm devices compared to 55% of the owners of BlackBerry. Apple iPhone took honor with 72%.
Perhaps we will see ads RIM Palm taking a jab at the last place of the classification in the future - or perhaps RIM is considered above such antics.
