Phil Harrison to resign from Sony Computer Entertainment

PlayStation leader throughout the world to leave Phil Harrison Sony.

PlayStation long time leader Phil Harrison will soon be leaving Sony. Harrison, president of Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios, relinquish his post on February 29, 2008. Taking Harrison’s duties are SCEI current president Kazuo Hirai.

“As a founding member of the SCE, Phil played a key role in the development and growth of the PlayStation business and our industry,” said Kazuo Hirai. “It is sad to see what SCE departing, but I want to express my gratitude for their many valuable contributions Phil also wish the best of luck in his future endeavours.”

Harrison has logged 15 years with Sony PlayStation joining the company in 1992, prior to the formation of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe.

“The past 15 years at Sony Computer Entertainment has been the definition of travel of my life so far,” said Phil Harrison. “I thank all of his family PlayStation incredible support, guidance and friendship. It has been a privilege to serve as part of the team and be inspired by them daily. I am very proud of everything PlayStation has made and will continue to support its future in any way we can. “
