Apple drops 45nm Intel processors in its MacBook, MacBook Pro.

Apple created a ruckus last month when it launched its ultra thin MacBook Air ultra-portable. The 13.3 “by three pounds laptop features a cut-down Core 2 Duo processor, 13.3″ display and Multi-Touch trackpad (which accepts commands like gesture iPhone and iPod touch).

In late January, inside sources leaked AppleInsider that Apple MacBook Pro notebooks is updated in the coming weeks to accept new Intel processors along with Penryn Multi-Touch.

The sources were correct and updated Apple today announced the MacBook Pro and MacBook laptops. Apple MacBook Pro notebooks now feature Multi-Touch, 45nm Intel Core 2 Duo (up to 2.6GHz), and a 512MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT graphics processor.

Apple 15 “MacBook Pro (1440×900) comes with a 200GB or 250 GB HDD at 5400 RPM depending on the model selected. 200GB 7200 RPM One unit is optional. The 17″ MacBook Pro (1680×1050) has a 250 GB hard drive at 5400 rpm as standard equipment - - One HDD 200GB 7200 RPM and 300 7200 RPM HDD are in the portfolio of options.

13.3 The entry-level “MacBook (1280×800) also received some minor updates but not add Multi-Touch to her repertoire. MacBook is available with a 2.1GHz or 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo processor, and is available with HDD with sizes ranging from 120 to 250 GB.
