Michael Bay says, “I told you so” to all the faithful HD DVD

Michael Bay’s high definition preference is no secret. It seems that the director finds striking action every opportunity to know that he is a firm believer in Blu-ray Disc.

This week, Netflix and Best Buy both expressed their intentions in favour of Blu-ray Disc format as their high-definition election. Bay comments on the latest industry change in the Visual Effects Society of the sixth annual award show, in which he said: “Blu-ray is better, and I told the whole world … I was very vocal about it . know HD [DVD] was not going to do it. “

Interestingly, the Bay of best selling high definition title to date, Transformers, is only available in a format that HD DVD is vehemently against betting.

“Am I excited? Really is not my fight, but remember what I said in the press? I was kind of saying HD [DVD] ’s going to lose,” he said. “Nobody believes me.”

Despite both HD DVD and Blu-ray Disc only storage media capable of supporting the same video and audio codecs, Bay says he prefers the way his films are presented in Blu-ray Disc. “It’s just more,” added Bay. “It’s just [that] the tools are better. I just think it’s closest to what we should look like.”

Points of view of the bay against HD DVD for the first time publicity at the time of signing Paramount exclusively with HD DVD, when the director exclaimed on its website its displeasure with the agreement and threatened to stop work on Transformers 2.

“I want people to see my films in the best formats. For them to deny the people who have Blu-ray sucks! Were progressive for having two formats. Transformers No. 2 for me,” said Bay at the end of August.

Probably after a few pleasant encounters with executives from Paramount, retracted his comments Bay and himself explained: “As director, I am all about people seeing films of the highest quality possible, and I have seen and heard first - Hand people upset by the decision of a company. So today I have seen in HD 300, rocks! So I think we could re-make Transformers 2! “

Months later, I was back to the bay more words against the choice of HD DVD Paramount deal. “It is short-sighted and has been delayed by consumers moving to HD (home video). As director, my criticism is that Blu-ray is that it is my money. Consumers are smart and will wait them out. “

Soon after Warner Bros. announced their plans to go with Blu-ray Disc this summer, the Bay wasted no time in giving their comments on the development. “Well another study. Maybe I was right? Blu ray is simply better. HD will die a slow death. Is what we predicted a year ago,” said Bay.

Bay words on the format war are not confined only in the consumer side. The director also expressed his conspiracy theory that Microsoft was intentionally support for HD DVD confusion on the consumer to waive the physical media for digital downloads.
