Paramount Goes Back to the Blu-ray Disc

Transformers assured a hit Blu-ray Disc.

As Hollywood is concerned, high-definition Blu movies are now. Paramount told the media today that it will soon begin releasing new films in Blu-ray Disc, a move many expected to happen after the withdrawal of Toshiba’s high definition format war on Tuesday.

“We are pleased that the industry is moving to a single format high definition, because we believe it is in the best interests of consumers,” read a statement from Paramount, received by the Hollywood Reporter. “As we look to (start) the release of our titles on Blu-ray, we will monitor consumer adoption and release of determining our plans accordingly.”

Unlike Universal Studios, which has already announced that it plans to release movies on Blu-ray Disc, Paramount, “it is not surprising that the now victorious high definition.
