Burners of next generation to hit the European market by the end of the month

Recent news suggests the Blu-ray optical media format used for audio, video and storage is taking control of the marketplace as film studios and movie rental services such as Netflix and Warner are pulling on the script and HD DVD exclusively lining with Blu-Ray. However, in spite of HD DVD’s apparent struggle to remain in the race, many hardware manufacturers are still committed to both formats.

Plextor Europe is appropriate for the game with the launch of two new optical drives, the PX-B920SA CD / DVD / Blu-ray and HD writer and DVD PX-B300SA CD / DVD and DVD Blu-ray / HD.

The PX-B920SA is the jack (almost) all operations, as it offers writing speeds 40x/24x CD-R/RW and DVD R / RW writing speeds of up 16x/8x. In addition, the PX-B920SA is able to write to the media in BD-R/RE until 4x/2x and read in the media until 8x speeds depending on the format. The PX-B920SA also has the ability to read HD DVD media 3x speeds.

The unit has a SATA interface with 4 MB buffer and also has Lightscribe technology that is not always the seller of these devices, but more than a characteristic of luxury.

The PX-B300SA makes the usual CD / DVD reading and writing duties at the same speed, but doubles as only a reader of Blu-ray and HD-DVD media to 3x speed and 6x, respectively. The PX-B300SA also presents a SATA interface and a 4 MB buffer together with Lightscribe technology.

The PX-B920SA and PX-B300SA be launched in the markets of Europe at the end of February US Decided no release date so far. Information price is not yet available but is expected to be a premium on the kind of OEM devices from companies such as LG.
