Sales of PlayStation 3 jump-started 135 percent since price cut

At July 9 Sony PlayStation 3 has new price. From that day price of Sony PlayStation 3 is $499. According to Sony data since Sony cut the price of PS3, PlayStation 3 sales have increased by more than 135 percent at the company’s top five retailers.

Increasing PS3 sales help to send PlayStation hardware up 161 percent, software up 15 percent and peripherals by 60 percent. Jack Tretton, president and CEO, SCEA said “The new price on the 60 GB PS3, coupled with our very strong software showing from E3, is certainly paying dividends in terms of impressive sales across the board at retail.”
