Microsoft WorldWide telescope is like Google Earth to the universe.

For many people, looking into the night sky and it is a hobby for some and frankly passion. Only a select few are able to use the huge telescopes that are found throughout the country to see deep space objects up close and personal.

Microsoft showed off a very cool application called WorldWide telescope at the TED Conference in California. Basically, the program will take images of a variety of Earth-based telescopes and the Hubble Space Telescope and allows users to view celestial objects.

The application states that type of work, as the sky Google Earth feature. Windows users can choose any portion of the night sky and zoom in regard to the available data allows. The application will allow users to view the celestial bodies such as the nova, other galaxies and planets from her desk.

Microsoft showed off a small demo application with Dr Roy Gould from the Harvard Center for Astrophysics in TED2008. Gould said: “All over the world The telescope has the best images of the largest telescopes on Earth and in space … … They meet in a seamless, holistic vision of the universe. This resource is going to change our way of doing astronomy … Our way of teaching astronomy … And, most importantly, I think that is going to change the way we look at ourselves in the universe. Creators of the WorldWide Telescope have given us a way to have a dialogue with our universe. “

Microsoft has set up a website for the whole world of the telescope and described the application as “a rich visual environment serves as a virtual telescope, which brings together the best images of the earth and the space telescopes to enable smooth, guided explorations of the universe. “

Microsoft said that the WorldWide Telescope application will be available in spring 2008 for free. The Hubble Space Telescope, which is the source of some uses of the images of the telescope WoldWide project, states that are replaced in 2013.
